Trend Productions Ltd. were given the chance to pitch for the publishing rights of upBEAT magazine, the official publication for Aberdeen International Airport shortly after I began working at Trend.


After a successful pitch with finance estimates and layout mock-ups we were granted the rights and began work on our first issue of the quarterly publication.

Our main goal was to make the magazine our own and use our years of publishing experience to aid the growth and expansion of the magazine in print and digital. We redeveloped the content, photography, design and stock of the magazine and introduced a smaller B5 sized publication bringing something new to the magazine and improving it's pick-up rate with it's handy size.

upBEAT Magazine continues to grow in leaps and bounds and continues to be printed each quarter. 15,000 copies are printed each run, and are distributed to over 500 venues throughout the North-East as well as having prominence within the airport campus.
